Menus, Grocery Lists and Recipes

Find the menu plans, grocery lists and recipes from each trip below.

I've listed my system for food and kitchen supplies while camping below. Hopefully you find it useful.

I separate out my kitchen supplies and food as follows:

  • one "blue tub" for kitchen utensils, small cutting board, paper towers, propane, hot pad, spatulas, dutch oven, coffee pot, extra baggies, extra plastic bags stuffed into a gatorade bottle that has a hole cut near the bottom to pull the bags out as needed, matches, candles, pam cooking spray, stove necessities, etc. I set my stove up on the end of the camping table, and place this tub right below. It acts as a cupboard and counter all at once.
  • two pantry tubs that are clear - one for every day snacks and munchies that I go into frequently, one for dry goods less needed (peanut butter, Horizon milks, fruit)
  • two coolers - one for my made ahead food that has been frozen and placed into small ziplocs inside of large ziplocs, and one for the dairy, deli and daily food I will need. I place all dairy items (cheese, cream cheese, deli meat) into double bagged ziplocs (one gallon bag and then that goes into a jumbo bag). Same with dairy. (I label the coolers as the "frozen" cooler, and the "cold" cooler to help myself differentiate.) *Do yourself a favor and buy a YETI! We just bought our first one and can't believe the difference it has made in keeping our food cool. Follow all their directions and you will be amazed at how long ice stays frozen in your cooler. We look forward to hauling our YETI to all the future parks! We may even get two.
  • 15 gallon tank for water
