Hello and welcome to National Parks Discovery, a travel blog where we journal about our travels to and discoveries (about our parks and maybe a little about ourselves) within all 59 U.S. National Parks. We are the American Family McDowell, and it is our goal to reach all the parks before our youngest graduates from high school in 2028.

We hope that you will follow along!

We will post all of our trips, tips, menus, routes, stats, park info, stories, equipment, etc…as much as we possibly can about each trip. If something is missing that you’d like to see, please ask! And, please send us your favorite places to visit and why – especially the “off the beaten path” places that are a must-see.

We are here to share our journey with you born out of a love for nature and each other, and we hope that love will be contagious and inspirational.
